M I L A N O | furniture fair 2016

Wisteria lane in Milan. This rain of purple flowers invade Milan in the most delightful way this time of year. A true favorite om mine. 

Sitting in a cafe on Moscova/Brera in Milano have  a doppio/doubel espresso and recalling what I saw yesterday out on the Salone Mobile/Milan international Furniture Fair.  

I only show what I like and feel for and not what is new because it´s new.  

I want share my interior and artistic finds. Love being in Milan for this time of year and seeing all the creativity and share it with you. 
Here are some finds that stayed with me :

Spanish Gandia Blasco based in Valencia is having a 75 year anniversary. This metal mesh chair is a true favorite of mine.  Gandia Blasco owns a villa hanging on a cliff  in Ibiza with an infinity pool,  that I stayed in where they have shot many of their magic mediterranean shots of their well designed furniture. The villa is a total cement palace that is more to my liking than I can tell you.

OK. We have s spot infection. Not only here but more furniture have what I call Part Polloc Disease. Dots of paint that has spread over the furniture or on walls or in the ceiling. I think Kusama would like these tine  viral dots. Jerszy Seymour designed these for Magis.

The first thing that happens when I get off the plane this time of year in Milano is that spring greets you. Since in Sweden at this time, even in the south we are still waiting. It rains a warm spring rain sometimes [not today though]  but, everywhere spring has sprung. Buon Giorno Milano!

Triclinium for Moroso

F R O N T 

The now two women strong design group Front, containing of Sofia Lagerkvist and Anna Lindgren just shared news on Instagram that I was taken by. 

The sofa called Triclinium (google the roman background on the name for info - interesting) for Moroso above just really made me so curious. 

It will be presented next week at the Milano Design week. Looking forward to seeing it along with the rocking horse below, Furia, that was inspired by the iconic rocking chair by Gebrüder Thonet. I am so looking forward to being in Milano for all that is going on with design this week. I will try and blog each day instead of wait until afterwards, so that you can see what I saw during each day. Flying down to Milano on tuesday night late and will start on wednesday with Salone Mobile which is the fairgrounds at Rho Fiera, if it´s not a sunny day...then I will try and see Zona Tortona (the zone around Via Tortona) or Lambrate because then you walk so much outside. We will see ( if you tune in) Stay in FRONT with me.

In February Front presented Plane lamp at Stockholm Furniture&Light Fair. A classical line with new technology that to me already feels like a classic.

A room with glass walls purely for enjoyment. To get closer to nature at all seasons.  

The garden is the backdrop and you feel as though you are outside.  

A place to have dinner and enjoyment and where plans are made together. A room where the view is so breathtaking that all you want to do is sit and just let it sink in.

Good lighting comes in many shapes. Use them the way you like it. Combine in new ways. Lamps and lights comes in gorgeous shapes and forms. Table, chairs and floor light, Interstil.

A calm room is inviting to all your senses.

When the view is the best part of the room. Enjoy it. 

Letting the table have space on all sides so that you easily can get around it makes it very accessible  and at the same time the focus of the room.

A side tale right in front of the view can be just perfect. This slim legged black beauty if a side table is from Interstil. Rattan chair, Sika Design.

Family game time in the sanctuary. Feeling of sitting outside but warm&cosy if spring is not quite there yet (like mostly in Scandinavia) 

One conservatory 3 styles. Black&White is the eternal perfect combo you never grow tired of. The Yin&yang of your glass room with the garden as a back drop.

Usually when shooting kids you have to find motivation to be able to continue. Not in this case. They loved the painting for their own letters. Paint and material, Panduro.

A playful inviting space that can make room for a clash with color with the whole family as well as dinner, is what this version of the conservatory successfully became.
