Demoliton Day at The Stable

 

All walls are going down! -- The Stable was converted or ..... a try of some sort was made many years ago to make the 100 year old Stable to a home.  Walls, floors and ceilings were built inside.  Electricity was put in and a bathroom actually worked when  we took over. The only problem was that the downstairs that is about 65 sqm was made into 4 rooms+bathroom(!!!)  Extremly small rooms and NO feeling at all in my way of seeing things. So here we go tearing it all down. It should be just ONE big open plan kitchen&livingroom with one wall standing for the bathroom.

The old stove came to use and a fire was made. Francisco cooked us chicken in the oven.

What a meal for hardworking demolitionworkers!

The fireplace on the backside of the stove is so beautiful. But in a sence turned the wrong way. Not facing the large room but facing the windows. Just something we have to live with.

This simple light fixture is typical for when Stables got electricity. Think we will come to have more of them....

Stablewindows at Hoby Mosse

 

Yes there are chickens on this minifarm. Fresh eggs are a delight!

Loving this app i found in my iphone called My messures and using it right now as I take a picture of the window to be able to send the meassurements and the picture so I can get the new window you see on the bottom that we put in the bathroom  instead of the door that was there.

Apple blossom. Apple blossom. Apple blossom. The scents of summer  in pictures of flowers.

Lilacs are my favorite scent. It tells you summer is coming. We had so many different colors around the garden.

Bergenia said hello in springtime. 
It´s so lovely to move into a house that already has so much to give.

This is how the window turned out in a new and updated version for the Stable at Hoby Mosse. Wanted to keep black windows but it was just tooo expensive. So to stay with the budget, got white ones and will paint a black frame around the windows instead the white one that the Stable has now, check them out on the pic on top. One of the entrances from the backyard in to the Stable need to become a window instead. The bathroom will hold that window when we are done.

Soomkai in German Brigitte

Since my personal favorite Schöner Wohnen already has had pictures of the Soomkai lamp last year, I am happy to say that Brigitte that you find online www.brigitte.de, is sporting our bamboo lampshade. 
We hope that Germans will come to like it just like us scandinavians and know that it has a good purpose aswell. For you who have not seen it before check in at www.jimmyschonning.com/webshop

From Stable to HOME

 This is the STABLE that will become our new home, seen from the westside.

 Detta är själva Stalldelen som skall bli vårt nya hem från västsidan.

This is the first view of the house you get from the road. The stable is the house on the right that you see a half part of.

Detta är vyn man ser när man kommer på vägen. Rosenbågen leder fram till huvudhuset, men det är Stallet till höger som skall bli vår bostad.

It all started some years ago when Francisco, whom I share my life and adventure with, went by the house&stable on bike and felt drawn to it. I then found it online (without knowing he knew it)  and took him to see it!
 He told me how he had seen it before and fell in love with it. 

It felt like this should be our place in the world.  We went into a bidding for the house&stable, but found it too expensive.
So we gave it up. 

We were then contacted 6 months later when the sale of the house had not gone through.
The house&stable could acutally become ours after all. 
We came to an agreement with the sellers of the house and it was ours this year in April. 


The house&stable were built at the turn of the century and noone knows for sure what year and there are no records of the house to find.I kind of like the mystery of that.

So this is the STABLE that will become our home. Are you in for some renovating ?

Window shutters

I have always liked window  shutters. It´s such a perfect way to close the windows and they decorate the house in a beautiful way.

 Love them in wood and worn like these I found on our trip through spain. In Sweden you do not see them so much, but in many countries around the mediterranean they are everywhere. Although sadly mostly nowadays in metall. They are a great decorative object standing in your living room or as a room divider.
