W A N Å S | konst/art

Yoko Ono Wishing Tree

Swings just waiting for you.

THREE huge red balls are stuck or hung high up in the trees. If you want to know which artist came up with this concept you can check out WANÅS KONST website here

Art in the park at Wanås Castle is an experience that gives so much back that I will go every year and more than once.

Open all year you can go whenever it is the right time for you. The surroundings are so beautiful in itself that would be enough for a sight seeing to see the Castle and the surrounding nature.
Added to that is art at an international level that gives so much to the historic park that you are that there is nothing to compare it with.
It is unique.

Just GO and you will see for your self. Here is my recollection of my art&nature experience in pictures.

P L A Y | ful summer house

Right inside the door all the favorite activities of summer life is right at hand.

The special crab fishing bucket has a lid with air holes and speaks french (if spoken to) due to it being almost a French antique that made me jump with joy as I found it. It was just right for this family.

The summer house was the families project for many years. RENOVATING. Doing all they could themselves. When the house burnt down they felt like their efforts for years were for nothing. Husräddarna, TV3 rebuilt the house in the spirit and feel interior and exterior wise of the outgoing summer activated family that inhabit this abode once again

Welcome home!
(I LOVE SAYING THAT TO OUR FAMILIES!!)

Decorating with playful usefulness.

Time for badminton.

50´s design around the table in Eames DSW chairs, Vitra. Bespoke rustic round table diam. 140 cm seats 6 comfortably, Lövsjö Loghouse

The cable drum became both kitchen lamp, shelf and deco.

Useful artistic wall. Lemon, Johanna Hedlund Art.

Cable drum light made with 6 yellow painted Ikea table lamps. First ever sail type of curtain I´ve come up with.

The tray table was a net find that I set with the copy of the old recovered  Island map of  Råssö where the summer house is located. The same type of map was a dear belonging that was lost in the fire.

Graphic wall from top, Ylva Skarp, Forestbird, Johanna Hedlund Art. Set on the traytable, Ylva Skarp.

Yes. It´s a rock and seaweed in the vase with rope handle, Interstil.

The hanging chair corner complete with floor cushion, Swedish Rags and the beautiful hemp carpet, Armadillo.

Curiosity, Ylva Skarp, found in the corner of the ceiling.Red cushion, Mimou.

Sarah Widman 8. Rope lanterns, Interstil.

The blue pendant lamp, Northern Lighting, matches the over 100 year old child wooden chair.

Green pallets made the foundation of the sofa that with back cushions and a bespoke enormous seat cushion from Swedish Rags, made it possible for the whole family to hang out stylish and extremely comfortably. Wall canvas, Photowall which is the same wallpaper that you find on the closet sliding door by the door. Lovely printed and black/white cushions,Mimou

P A T I O | plan

To enjoy the sun outside seated comfortably was the dream.

The house that burnt down never had a patio and that was something the family longed for, so when Husräddarna, TV3 rebuild the house we made sure that the garden patio was made to the families liking.

Our carpenter Björn made this simple and clever plant ladder. Together we decided the size of each level to fit the tires as pots, and make room for the plants and deco all the way to the top.
The plant ladder is a great way of creating levels of greenery instead of just setting all pots on the floor of the patio.

Chunky and comfortable out door furniture with a relaxed lounge style in the sun just after the rain.
I had never seen this line of furniture and was in Copenhagen during the North Modern Furniture Fair at Bella Center when I found the Kenneth Cobonpue Furniture stand. As you see we found the right furniture for the family which was incidentally the first ever furniture from the world wide design company of celebrated designer Kenneth Cobonpue in Sweden.

The hanging bed really looks comfortable, it was designed &built especially for the family by Björn Christiernsen

F O R E S T | green dreams

Green metal cabinet storage and color. Camo chair,PrettyJo

Didrik told me first he wanted a treehouse-like room, but he thought he could not say that to me because I would do just that.

Well I did in a way, but without the actual tree. Well, then again maybe I did... See for yourself. This is Husräddarna episode 6 and Didriks room, a young musician and philosopher.

The blackboard was painted with magnetic paint and the test tube like little vases are such you get when buying for example  vanilla. Each glass tube got a small magnet attached with super glue, so the "vases" can be moved on the board.

The birch headboard could keep one small twig on which the cord lamp hangs. Birch tree headboard made by the master of the woods, Erik the timberman of Lövsjö Loghouse.

Lighthouse. Just a cord lamp and a rusty old bird cage. Olsson-Jenssen.
Hangning chair. If you never tried sitting in one. Do it. Chances are you might like it...

Green is more than a color.

Steampunk lamp from Lightshop. It should have had 5 lightbulbs, but the city of Huddiksvall did not offer the right one and one of the bulbs was crushed in the transport. So I made the choice of not having the 5th instead of having another type of bulb. Really like this wallmounted lamp/artpiece.

The hanging pots will not rain down water or dirt. They are a very clever invention that you just have to check out, Skyplanter.

The  wallpaper being the art of the room, Photowall

This is Didrik´s morning view when he opens his eyes in bed.

Vertical garden.

The seventies looking brown walls are actually cork. Cork as wallpaper that you naturally can use as a notice board or your own gallery. Go crazy and put up every single picture you saved.

Plant pictures in the old school tradition are remade and in such a lovely way. So if you do not find the vintage ones don´t fret. Get Grunne.

The burlap type bedspread with a black letter print became both curtain and bedspread. Really like the quality and the heaviness of the fabric. The chocolate colored pillow case and cover, Zebra Collection. All other textiles, Jotex.
