Today is both Marcello´s and my birthday and we are off to have dinner soon in Gamla Stan after I post this:
Dinner and Drink by Jimsch was held 3 September evenings, three weeks in a row at the Jimsch Studio Showroom at Södermalm where the food looked this appetizing due to the vegan and raw food meals served by Soulfood Sthlm. The kitchen got the grey Silestone, Brooklyn update both worktop and splash back with a shelf perfect for holding the iPad and/or Marshall Stockwell. Order Silestone and have it measured and installed at Ahlgrens Marmor.

Working with interiors a vital part of any makeover contains textile transformation.

fortextile consultation. Lisa&Helena that are cohosting our Dinner by Jimsch and are responsible for the total textile makeover at Jimsch Studio Showroom are both sisters and partners in textile transformation.
At the very bottom you see how the bedroom turns out to be my all time favorite room.
The art of wallcovering in our bedroom is masterly done by Hernvalls Tapetserfirma with a fabric mix from Romo. A mix of synthetic and natural fiber makes for a more long lasting wall covering.
Göran & Göran (d.y & d.ä) from Hernvalls tapetserfirma is working and I am trying to film them. There are so few in Sweden that still know how to perform the art of wallcovering.
Double piping as here of piping is in Swedish called keder is here done with a glue gun.
Seen with the black textile wallcovering in front you see a full length photo of the window after the total textile makeover. An important part is how you hang the fabric and the combinations made along with the actual sowing. The hotel feeling we were looking for really came with the Romo fabrics.
The carpet is from Jimsch as well as the grey pattern throw hanging over the green Foxford fringed throw.
Curtains are not elusively for windows. The can be uses in so many more places

The kitchen curtain solution looks so good let all the way down. The textile becomes the art in the room framed by the window. Great for windows like this where you prefer privacy.

The textile heaven a bedroom is here finally finished just like Systrarna Axelsson and I dreamt it would be. Bedskirt as headboard in Romo fabrics as well as velvet pillows. Embroidered grey recycled textile Jimsch pillows make for the softness accompanied by the metal firewood storage and lamp that in my design I am so glad it was finished in time for our first ever Dinner&Drink by Jimsch.
Getting ready for our Dinner & Drink by Jimsch, the interior transformation of the studio has totally taken over. The wallpaper or more correctly said: mural ceiling covering called A priori fromRebelwalls only took a couple of hours to take it´s place

To get the Brooklyn Silestone worktop and splash back in place along with the special shelves, we now say good bye to the old worn out laminate surface.

Arrive at my birth town of Varberg after a quick train ride from Stockholm via Göteborg. Drop my bags off at the elegant Varbergs Stadshotell and get picked up an driven to Himle Kök showroom and workshop in shiny elegant Mercedes-Benz provided by Hedin bil cars along with a group of local architects, interior designers and influencers after a glas of bubbly at super cosy favorite Varberg restaurant John´s Place on the beach.
We look at the bespoke kitchen production line and get treated to wine and fine finger food.
Kitchens here are built in good sustainable materials and are made to last. Just look below how these drawers are made. On the production floor there is a load of Douglas fir from Dinesen that is waiting to be turned into a kitchen. You can design your own kitchen in the material of your choice and have www.himlekok.se build it.
We get into the cars for a short ride and arrive at Studio Pompone where we are treated to a introduction of artist Märta-Louise Karlsson´s way of working in her material of choice : glass.
Presenting their mutual design kitchen is Jennie Ullman/Himle kökand Lucas Morten/Studio Pompone. The dark wood and metal cabinets combined with linseed burned hot rolled metal sheet back splash is a unique modern approach use of traditional handicraft that I appreciate fully. Designed and sold atStudio Pompone.
The metal worktop and backsplash makes this kitchen stand out.
After the viewing of this in my eyes the sexiest Swedish kitchen I have ever seen we are all invited to a tasty BBQ dinner we can see being grilled right outside, served with lovey wines and seated at specially made up tables set with Studio Pompones finest table ware.
DJ is the youngest son of the Morten family that run Studio Pompone that makes Varberg a more stylish place to live in.
We say our thanks and bow to Himle kök & Studio Pompone and are driven back to the hotel after a full evening of kitchen, design, food and wine.
I meet up with my hubby Marcello who comes in with the late train from Stockholm and we crash in the great big queen size bed after a bath in the gorgeous metal bath tub.
What is better than a warm bath and and a bed at midnight? Thank you for a fantastic design filled day Varberg.

Tuesday the twenty-first of August and the day for Formex opening in Stockholm. The first exhibit that greet you after entering is a dark green blackish camo covered tent type of installation, where the stand out color scheme is black and green hues.
The guest Creator this season at Formex is my personal favorite with the the alliteration name you can not forget : Abigail Ahern
Abigail Ahern who has created the thematic exhibition in the Entrance Hall of the Formex interior fair is a well know name in the UK. Follow Abigail on Instagram
Abigail Ahern´s internationally acclaimed interior style combines muted shades, unusual shapes (both new and old) greenery and faux botanicals.
Abigail Ahern is according to Formex admired for her ability to test limits and draw on slightly darker palettes with masculine approaches, combining it all with designs that exude magic and mystique.
As Formex says : lean back and simply experience Abigail´s Wonderland.

I can not say how happy it makes me feel that the style ofAbigail Ahern that not is the common Scandinavian style is not only by me considered the style of the times right now.
This is so close to what I love as a designer on all levels apart from one thing. The faux botanicals...but you know what, there is a time and place for everything and I might even try some of the fake fern Abigail Ahern, just because you made me see that it looks so good.
Right next to Rossana Orlandi in Milano during the design week Sé is presenting the new collection IV created by designer Ini Archibong.
I meet Ini right inside the door and he gives me a warm greeting and a generous tour of the furniture&ligthing collection created for Sé together with co-founder Pavlo Schatkleff.
Ini has taken his inspiration for "Below the Heavens" from ideas of cosmology, the classical world and celestial harmony. The result is a more down to earth collection of 11 objects than expected of which I show you my photos below.
The Eos Table is a cantilevered disc atop ceramic or lacquered base: akin to the sun rising over a horizon. "I wanted a top and base to interact like concentric ovals, giving a feeling of perpetual motion," says Ini.
The Circle chair has a playful personality. With a deep upholstered seat and harp-like back, "It provides character as well as comfort" says Ini.
Collection IV took shape after Sé co-founder Pavlo Schatkleffapproached Ini Archibong. Sensing that they shared values, Schtakleff and Archibong embarked on a design journey, visiting Sé's European manufacturers and developing their mutual sensibilities of the sumptuous and sculptural, merging fine materials - marble, brass and handmade glass.
"Our DNA matched", says Ini Archibong talking about his relationship with Sé co-founder Pavlo Schtakleff creating the "Below the Heavens" collection. "We spoke the same language"
One flight down the only light provided is coming from the 12 crystal lamps in the Moirai Chandelier , described by Ini as a "constellation of clouds" Created by the glass technique of cold-working, it has three main families of shade, which can be combined in different configurations. With brass stem mounts they make for an illuminating conversation.
