Black Breed retreat by Roijé
YES - it is a henhouse.
A black design henhouse.
Created by Frederic Roijé and named Breed retreet. I saw it first time at the Milan Fair 2010 and fell for it completely.
Since I now have my own chickens and roosters I have come to think about it.
I wrote about it in the blog I had at that time at TV4.se but have never shown it here.
Don´t you just have to love the thought put into this the most modern henhouse ever seen. Makes me have lots of ideas of my own...

The simple things
We walked down from the bridge to follow the ravine north of Nerja.
The path led us down into the lush ravine.
Found this gate made of bamboo. Since I love bamboo and the possibilities it gives I fell for this the most simple gate I have ever seen.
The sea shells on a string decorating the gate does the trick. Like a neclace for your gate, or your curtain or just to hang on a hook for display for you to remember the wonderful time you hade by the ocean, picking the shells. For the wonderful shape and color of the shells.
It´s the simple things. Right ?
Have yourself a wonderful
and lovely weekend :)

To the MAX
If this is not maximalism I have never seen it. I sat at a table across from this wall at a restarurant high up in the Grenada mountains in Spain.
Must say I have never seen as much put up on any wall. And certainly never so much that used to live...

Soomkai in the press
Our Soomkai lamp in the press. Always happy to talk about my Soomkai design and has done so many times on the blog. From the very first time I had the idea that became the design to the production of the handmade bamboo lamp to the charity that you back if you buy the lamp.
If you click on this link you get to see what happens to the percentage of the profit that goes to the HIV orphanage that Soomkai supports. You can easily get your own Soomkai from all the shops that sell Watt&veke lamps. At Watt&Veke´s website you can find where the shop closest to you sells the Soomkail lamp. Check out the sizes at our webshop www.jimmyschonning.com.

Hallway heaven
BEFORE
There was nothing majorly wrong with this hallway apart from the fact that there was almost no
space to hang or store clothes and shoes....
The doors I like a lot, but...not to have as your bathroom, washing room and guestroom door. Glass doors do not provide so much privacy (Painted them later black and used them upstairs)
Color scheme wise in my book this is what you do when you have no tools to do anything else...
AFTER
The higher ceiling really made a big difference and the fact that we stole some floor space from the guest room in favor of the hallway made a big difference. Just enough space to fit the locker cabinet that can fit all the clothes this hallway need. The wodden floor was painted a light grey shade that also frame the doors. B=Bathroom/Badrum in swedish, T=Tvättrum/Washingroom in english, G=Gästrum/Guestroom in Swedish.
There are so many ways of storing shoes. This is my way.
A noticeboard as well as a lamp from Norwegian design company Northern Lighting makes it more fun when drawn this creatively by friend and photographer Jessika Jarl
Displaying what I like (then change it when I find something new...)

Fleur de lis forever
The french lily - Fleur-de-lis
Is a favorite motif that always comes back to me and mosaics is something I have learned to love and will continue to use in interiors. Do not tire of it.
Finding most inspiration in churches like these mosaics in the Biarritz church Paroisse Notre Dame du Rocher.
Would you not love to have a
floor like this ? Magic mosaics!
So fantastic to see the color combinations along with the craftsmanship.
