G A L E R I A A M A N T I K I R, PENEDO, BRAZIL

GALERIA AMANTIKIR started as a project for JORDAN SCHÖNNING in AUG 2022. JORDAN SCHÖNNING is Architect Marcello Jordan my husband and me.  Last week of September we attended the premiére opening in Penedo. Penedo is located in Rio de Janeiro state 3 hours drive from the city of Rio in the mountains of Serra da Mantiqueria.

Galeria Amantikir is one 

building consisting of two commercial spaces. 

There are wooden decks welcoming 

in front and in the back of the building. 

Galeria Amantikir is a space 

for Brazilian Art curated 

by Nina Garcia. 

The gallery has a bar 

and serves snacks. 

Special attention has been 

taken to all of the 

trees on the site. 

Both outside the building 

as well as indoor. 

The trees that we here 

long before the gallery 

define the building.

 

An arborist aproach 

we are very proud of.

 

The word for tree is 

árvore in Brazilian portuguese. 

The building is connected 

but divided in two. 

The white facade is 

Galeria Amantikir 

and the green facade 

will be a day spa.

Inbetween the two conneted housebodies a tree has 

been kept and at 

the foot of the tree 

a pool for turtles. The pool is connected with a indoor section. The turtle pool is outdoor 

and indoor aswell in 

the Galeria Amantikir.
