Christmas in Penedo,Brasil for the first time

We started off Christmas the 24th 

at my husbands closest family.

On Christmas day during the brunch at 

Jazz Village Penedo I joined 

two singers a pianist and a percussionist 

to perform Sankta Lucia in Swedish, 

Italiano and Português. 

The last weekend of January Sanny Alves, 

Marlon Mouzer and I will premiere 

our all new trilingual 

show Nossa Bossa 

at Jazz Village.  

This was our gift from the Horta of 

Casa da Ilha to my 

husbands family for Christmas.

and who can live without candels?

home made as a styling job

 many moons ago that I have repeated every 

Christmas as a tradition is still a favorit,

 but 2021 I think it is time for 

a whole new or a totally 

recycled Christmas.

This new year 2021 

calls for all new methods. 

Never have I spent so much time 

tending a garden in December. 

 A little bit of Christmas 

feeling rubbed off on our house, 

but this year was not a big 

decorating feast. 

We had other things to tend to tis year.

2021 IS COMING 

Will be 10 years ago this December

 I shot my last episode of the DIY TV show

 Äntligen Hemma for 

TV4 produced by Meter Television. 

2011 12 23 I wrote in Swedish here on the blog

Nåt jag inte kommer att sakna är bögskämten från vart programledarmöte. Har aldrig arbetat på en så sexistisk arbetsplats.

Which means 

 I will not miss the jokes referring 

to my sexuality. 

I have never worked at 

such a sexist place. 

When the tabloids then wrote 

for example  

Expressen wrote 

Äntligen Hemma Jimmy 

till attack mot kollegorna 

för bögskämt

The headline almost a decade ago for 

Expressen said that I 

attacked my colleagues due to a 

joke about me being gay. 

Since the TV SHOW Äntligen Hemma 

so unintelligently was taken off the air 

 due to the circumstances concerning the 

allegations of one white heteronormative 

sexist very short former carpenter called Martin. 

Why TV4 did not just terminate Martin Timell 

and then cast a strong female tv experienced 

DIY TV host and stayed on air is beyond brainless, 

and tells just how by the balls Martin Timell had TV4.

It all started with the Me too movement 

initiated by Lulu Carter on her Instagram. 

This is years later after I already had deemed 

Äntligen hemma as the most sexist work place.

Everyone in Äntligen Hemma knew who I meant.

on all I commented 

that we liked for us and 

got as a Christmas gift.

The Christmas 🎄 window stars, the table all set, welcoming us to the new age this 21 of December when Saturn & Jupiter  meet 🪐 The stars that guide us 🕯As for traditions,  this is the last Christmas like this.

I’m still dreaming of a white Christmas

Still love the song : I’m dreaming of a white Christmas  Though the author inteded  snow I went for all white with what I considered Christmas red accents.

Creating content for the Swedish publishing industry as an interior stylist I wanted each Christmas to look different as a professional challenge  Through decades of different Christmas  designs  for interior publications and online magazines as well as tv productions, this eclectic x mas interior remained my personal favorite and has become my tradition to post for Christmas.  The former chapel in this building from 1879 was for years my favorite photo studio. Just look at the columns here by the entrance. The fire place here is created for the shoot & the fire  is digitally lit by the photographer @ingaprylar whith whom I did most work as a stylist. I am so thankful for being able to work with creating image scenography for this period before all publishing houses in Sweden stopped selling adverts , fired their editorial staff and stopped contracting free lancers like me. When all free lancers were forced to sign copy right contracts that cut all chance of possible profit I stopped producing image content for Swedish publications all together and sold only to international agents like Danish, Copenhagen based  #houseofpictures

Very thankful for being able to be a part of a exeptionally creative time in Stockholm producing image content as a stylist in a time of prosperity. There is today in Sweden only 1 interior magazine that is truly sucessful  that still sell copies and have both paper publications and online platforms. Do you know which one it is?

Just saw The Prom which is @promnetflix based on the musical with music by Matthew Sklar, lyrics by Chad Beg uelin, and a book by Bob Martin and Beguelin, based on an original concept by Jack Viertel.

The musical follows four Broadway actors lamenting their days of fame, as they travel to the conservative town of Edgewater, Indiana, to help a lesbian student banned from bringing her girlfriend to high school prom.

Are you aware of that it is a human right to choose with whom you want to live your life or go with whom you want to go to the prom with for that matter?

the 12th of December 2020

Gay rights are human rights as well as #lgbtq  rights. 

Do you grasp how important it 

is for us as parents

to be open to what your child 

want even if you are heterosexual? 

If you only knew how common it is all over the world and more suprisingly how it still happens in Sweden that children are rejected by their own parents. 

Preconcieved opinoins that is not based on actual experience is prejudice.

Cunha, city of ceramics

Cunha, city of ceramics

Wanted to go to Cunha but due to the 

pandemic ended up never going. 

We believe in keeping the wheels turning,

 so masked keeping distance,

 we are here to find hand made ceramics 

from the city of a long ceramic 

tradition in Sao Paulo state, 

which is about a two  

hour car drive from Penedo. 

A NOBORIGAMA 

 登り窯  

chambered climbing kiln is 

built on a slope, 

and each succeeding chamber 

is situated higher 

than the one before it,  

fitting the mountainous 

area Cunha is located 

in perfectly. 

The chambers in a NOBURIGAMA 

are pierced at intervals 

withs stoking ports. 

These climbing kilns 

have been used in Japan 

since the 17th century. 

The video shows the surrounding hills 

and the square in the city center 

by one of the two churches. 

Cunha was inhabited in the beginning 

of the 18th century. 

The municipality was fonded in 1724 

and elevated to city in 1858. 

The rooster above I spotted at the fantastic 

eco reuse cafe of Aracato you see more of below. 

Since 1975 Cunha has become an center 

of stoneware ceramics

16 ceramic studios in 

all in Cunha

 

to that a city with 

sights and 

lots of restaurants. 

The main church is being 

restored to its former 

glory at the moment.  

Even found a fun real interesting antique 

shop on the main square in Cunha. 

Aracatu is not only a cafe 

it is a way of living in the eco 

tradition that sells fresh 

veggies and bakes everything.

Erica & Christopher won a home consultation for their first home

The gorgeously green kitchen was an easy choice when the young couple moved in to the new built two room apartment in Fruängen, Stockholm built by Åke Sundvall that I worked with in Sweden. 

Moving in together is a mutual decision naturally but deciding which furniture to use in the new home and what to sell or get rid off is difficult for everyone when making one home out of two. 

To know which style to accentuate and how to mix two life styles is not easy for anyone.  

Erica & Christopher won a Home Consultation last year  from me at my lecture dealing with creating a Personal Space called Room for Personality, in Swedish : Personliga Rum. Åke Sundvall who arranged the inspiring evening at Brf Agnes generously supplied the possibility for one of the new owners to win a personal HOME CONSULTATION. 

20 years ago most home owners did their own interior work when moving in to a new home, but nowadays the 

attitude has changed. 

After years with designers helping out home owners on TV the attitude has changed for sure. 

Thank you so much Erica & Christopher for letting me in to your home and congratulations to your new home and life style you created by just meeting me two evenings two hours at a time. 

The choice to keep the kitchen table in the middle of your kitchen space instead of by the window is what makes your apartment a harmonious 

hit in my opinion.

The dining season

 

Mesh is the name of the table ware series at Rosenthal which is also the
name of a good friend of mine in the hospitality industry in Stockholm.
The tastiest wraps and juices in Sthlm are found at Planet MESH 

When first starting out with the  

hospitality segment as 

an interior designer

 I was disapointed because 

I realized that fine ceramics of the artistic kind 

does not really endure a professional 

cafe and restaurant environment.

The good thing is that a company like Rosenthal have 

produced porcelain for over 140 years. 

The factory in Selb, Germany have provided both private 

and professional

markets with the focus on sustainable 

production in the factory in Speichersdorf, 

Germany.

So I like to follow what Rosenthal 

is doing and this private use

 table ware collection 

is being made in a variety

of colors which means 

off course it has been a true success.

Since 2009 Rosenthal is owned by

 an Italian company owned by the American Arcturus Group. 

As you understand the table 

ware for a restaurant

 is its signum.

Just like you want a certain 

style at home, right?
