Rhubarb heaven

Francisco made the rhubarb pie from our first rhubarbs and shortcrust pastry. He put the rhubarb in water to a boil with sugar after taste. Do not let it boil. Take down the heat and add some potato starch. Put the sweetened rhurbarbs in the crust ( that has gone in to the oven by itself until it reaches a golden tone)  and add some overlaying crust (that are brushed with egg yolk and spred with brown sugar) and leave in the oven at 200 ° until i gets the right golden tone and looks like this. Welcome to rhubarb heaven.

My love of rhubarb

Rhubarb taste soooooo wonderful. I looks amazing just as it is.
I love the colors from green to red tones.
I love the leaves. I use them for decoration. Just one leaf on a plate and then whatever you put on it it looks fantastic. I loooooooooooong for the time when they are in season, and that is NOW!!
My first rhubarbs are just big enough to pic. Make a pie out of them. Make a jam or a lovely lemonade. Make a salsa to put on you meat. Prepare them as a part of a salad.  Put them in a vase. Be in inpired by RHUBARBS.

Wikipedia says :

Rhubarb (Rheum rhabarbarum) is a species of plant in the family Polygonaceae. They are herbaceous perennials growing from short, thick rhizomes. They have large leaves that are somewhat triangular, with long fleshy petioles. They have small flowers grouped in large compound leafy greenish-white to rose-red inflorescences.
In culinary use, fresh raw petioles (leaf stalks) are crisp (similar to celery) with a strong, tart taste. Most commonly, the plant's leaf stalks are cooked with sugar and used in pies and other desserts. A number of varieties have been domesticated for human consumption, most of which are recognised as Rheum x hybridum by the Royal Horticultural Society.
Rhubarb is usually considered a vegetable. In the United States, however, a New York court decided in 1947 that since it was used in the United States as a fruit, it counted as a fruit for the purposes of regulations and duties. A side effect was a reduction on imported rhubarb tariffs, as tariffs were higher for vegetables than fruits.
Rhubarb also contains glycosides—especially rhein, glucorhein, and emodin, which impart cathartic and laxative properties. It is hence useful as a cathartic in case of constipation.

Ok ... I  can not wait a minute longer. I have to make a RHUBARB PIE NOW!!!

I love rhubarb

Dreamy Outdoor space

Green en masse!
What is there not to like about this? I love the shape of the pool. The huge bamboo as a backdrop. The complete green surroundings. The green net above. The side table is just right,  and last but not least :
The comfy OUTDOOR easy chair/bed from Verzelloni called Zoe.
We are talking major lounge style.
Just lovely I would say.

This exterior leaves you longing for lazy summer days. Doesn´t it ?

The Stable white house style

All white window wall in candle light with new greens hanging from the upper level

Freshly painted all white walls with the ladder still there.

The Stable look like the white house indoors, but will not stay like that for long.

The idea is to give it a lot of vibrant colors, so the talk right now is of the right hues and of what combinations are best.

The Stable will not be as Swedish on the inside as on the outside when its  done this spring with  all white walls and black rooftop.

Cuban Lady

When I found this photo it was so clear to me who this picture was for : my beloved.
Francisco was born in Cuba and this very LARGE photo is called : CUBAN LADY.
When I saw it I did not know, but I immediately thought of Francisco.
I wanted him to have it. So I thought I would take it on the train down to where we live outside of Lund. Hmm.... not such a good idea. This photo is almost as tall as I am. Decided to pick it up at the Malmö location of Bo Concept instead.

Francisco finally got the Cuban Landy and liked her. All was well.
We decided to give her a good place in our Stable. But she is a large lady and we found no real good space. Upstairs is all slanting attic walls so no good for pictures really. So we came up with the thought of making the Cuban lady the front of our hallway closet. Under her is a shoe shelf and behind her wonderful smile you can hang jackets and store gloves and scarves.
Her smile makes us smile. We are even thinking of using the colors of the flowers in her hair for the rest of the Stable interiors. Now that would be something for a Cuban Lady.
