Thank you for the photo Maria Celin

This work week started yesterday with a flight to Stockholm. Today has been shooting the start of a new episode for HR, TV3.

Tonight traveling down south again to go home to Lund and tomorrow visit the interior fair North Modern in Copenhagen.

Want you to know that what I want here is to share my inspiration, views and thoughts on interiors and all that that comes with it. First hand impressions.

I do not want to regurgitate what has already been chewed by many before.
I want to share all that I see and have the opportunity to experience from my point of view and would love to hear what your take on that is.

T E X T I L E - F O R M - EX- travaganza

Spring greeting us at the entrance of Formex Stockholm made  possible by Blomsterfrämjandet.

Formex is the bi annual fair in Sweden dealing with all the smaller objects that is not exhibited at the
Furniture Fair, at least that´s the thought.

The truth is there are quite many who exhibit at both fairs due to them having both larger and smaller objects in their interior collection.

Formex also deals with food producers such as chocolate and liqourice which to me is the wrong venue for, but many interior stores want to sell such items.

I will NOT tell you about all the interior news that there off course are an abundance of. I WILL tell you what I think is a noticeble tendency at this January 2015 in Stockholm Formex.

After the reign of eternal white and beige. We have reached a change.  Yeah!!!
COLOR in textile is overwhelming at Formex.

It was a true feeling of Textile Form Extravaganza in my way of seeing the fair this year.
Scandinavia has been over all, if you generalize, paralyzed with white, beige and grey.
Not any more.

Now there is COLOR all over. Making me truly happy since no one will forget white and beige, but we seem to have forgotten how much  vibrant colors has impact over our lives in our darkness in winter.

Coming to Formex and being overwhelmed in a very positve way with yellow, pink, green and orange hues it made a great impact on me.

Linum with a sunny citrus yellow runner as well as the Swedish flag colors of the midsummer feel styling of the dinner table below. Green incorporated with plants and flowers all over makes it all come alive.

A forerunner in daring to use color on a everyday basis is Teresa Lundahl of Mateus ceramics.
With her plates of yellow and green that stood out against all of the white tableware she has stood her ground and won everyone´s attention by sticking to her color mantra.

Working as a stylist with a TV food program over 15 years ago I found her plates irresistible and so did all the viewers watching the show. They called in asking where the cool colored large hand painted plates could be found.

Mateus is nowadays represented in more countries in the world than I can remember so I can only congratulate this extraordinary entrepreneur to her success. The ceramics in the coral colored picture above is part of the new collection and the textiles making it a perfect combo is from  daughter Filippa Lundahl that has created a collection of home textiles with pattern, style and lots of color with the name Fillie.

I must congratulate the family duo on their perfect harmony in their interior style and the table setting making you feel like you are having a dinner in the Caribbean. That is what great interior can do. Transport you to where ever you like, still comfortably seated in your own home.

Himla presented colorfully and this blu/turqoise is my favorite. Notice plates. If you still like to go with white and beige flowers of color will provide you with the energy needed to make our home come alive.

These hanging wool throws from Foxford just make want to have one in each color along with the How kudd you pillows that match so well. Change the feeling of your living room with accessories.

Odd Molly Home Collection with all the romantic patterns and soft hues of pink that along with the textile forest ( below ) made a very colorful impression.

Tell me more interiors

There are so many bed linen that looks amazingly wrinkly and relaxed that I wanted to have them all. Colorful glass lantern, concrete and bed linen from Gothenburg based Tell me more

This is how I try to blend in at Formex color textile Extravaganza with my very green linen jacket from Nyström Persia

Lamps below not with so much color but textile hanging lamps such that I think there will be much more of.

Had the chance to meet&greet the King of TV interiors in Sweden Mr Ernst Kirchsteiger.
My mother will be very jealous!

Gripsholm showing great style in choosing our Soomkai lamp in their display. - Thank you!

G O D   Morgon Stockholm

Shot the TV show Husräddarna all day yesterday and then drove 4,5 h up to Stockholm and today spending the day at the Formex Fair.

Hoping to see lots of inspiring interiors. Lets go!

BLUE HUES and GOLDEN detailing is what my favorite magazine VT wonen says 2015 will bring among other things in this picture

 INTERIOR  T R E N D S  2015

All FASHIONISTAS  and INTERIORISTAS look at trends - especially when a new year starts. Are you a   INTERIORISTA ?    -   I am for sure! I love interiors  and all that makes a home a real home to me.
So what are trends ? According to dictionaries  T R E N D S  are :

1. A general tendency or course of events: a warming trend.
2. Current style; vogue: the latest trend in fashion or interiors
3. The general direction of something: the river's southern trend.
Trends to me are generally uninteresting when I create an interior. But (and we do like those...)  when looking at news and what the season has to offer that is new on the interior and furniture horizon it can be informative and fun to know what the media think is of interest.
Since you know ALL that is new is never reported. Reported from the production of interior companies are what the media is made aware of. What is served in front of them.
It´s not like there is a thorough investigation of all that is present and then there is a thesis.

What is served best at the fairs is what is reported mostly.
What is reported is then called the T R E N D S if they match what the gurus have indicated before. In Sweden one of the Guru´s of interiors is Li Edelkoort. Most so called trend setters listen to her and then decide what they think they should go for. I listened to Li Edelkoort's prediction of the trend for summer of 2015  a in Sept of 2014.

So I ask myself what I think the trends are this summer and fall out of all the trends, which one will prevail and for Sweden trends that contain blue has always been popular. Luckily trends are so varied in our different cultures. The trends of Stockholm is not the same as London as we all know, which makes it all more interesting I think.

Next week in Sweden we have Formex in Stockholm. I will visit Northmodern in Copenhagen, Denmark later and after that the Furniture Fair in Stockholm and so on. In Paris there is the Maison Object that deals with the same area as FORMEX and in Frankfurt and London offcorse are more Fairs letting us know the news of the interior world.

I do believe like many interior magazines that blue hues from dark jeans blue to turquoise will be of great interest this year and I really like the mix of gold in that color sector. A fun mix of material from rough to polished.  Must say that gold is a color and feeling I seldom use but golden type of metals are really trendy so gold may very well be the next need.
Sweeds are generally not so much into gold in my opinion but therefor it´s even more interesting in my way of thinking.
Here are some ways of incorporating blue hues in the way I see as easy to add if you fall for the new blue hues :

Light blue worn cupboard from RAJA that you find online. This interior done for the TV3 production of Husräddarna.

All the green that works so well with the blue colors are good to have in mind.

Stripes of many different blue in a wallpaper.

Carpets must be the easiest way of incorporating a new hue of blue to your home.

BLUE hue for baby or children´s room.  Making your own clock. Playwood can easily be painted and cut into shape. Clocks found at DIY stores and then add ready made stickers.

A photo of blue skies or art introduces blue hues easily.

Loved by all are the blue hues of jeans. Make pillows out of your old jeans. R E U S E. Curtains or a table cloth.

Wroooom! (sort of...)
The new year of 2015 is fast.
Loving all that it has in store.

I am so thankful for all of 2014.
We shot and broadcasted a whole series of Husräddarna for TV3

Out of the TV show we also made a series of 7 articles in Leva&Bo Expressen that ran along side the airing of the show every week.

From all of my own homes that I have renovated through the years  making them my own I had also made a series of articles that have been published in magazines all over the world (not trying to exaggerate - it´s acutally more countries than I can remember...)

This time we remade the articles about the 7 JS homes into a series that ran in Härligt Hemma, Aftonbladet for 7 weeks.

The JS HEM blog have been telling the story of the conversion of the Hoby Stable to our HOME all year as well as looking at news and interiors that makes you happy and will continue to tell my views and interior ideas with the purpose to inspire.

Since summer of 2014 JS HEM is also on Instagram. Follow us and find inspiration for your home.

Last news letter told of the NEW  Husräddarna 2015 that is in full progress now.

Soon I will be able to tell you more about the series of products with a specific purpose that is a dream come true that is being designed for Swedish Axlings together with owner Fredrik Axling.

Since mid 2014 I am working on new products for English Atmosphere that I will tell you more about in this formidable year of 2015 that is saying

Let´s make the best of it!

/ Jimmy

A new year always means new possibilities. Actually every day has the same promise, but when a new year starts there is a special energy that is worth taking care of and sharing.

Just came home from a fantastic road trip with my love and our three dogs.
We drove from Hoby Mosse, Skåne, Sweden where we live down to Rome, Italy and back! We stopped in Germany, Austria and saw a lot of Italy.

Made stops all along the way and saw so many wonderful sights, heard sounds and tasted food of sorts I never tasted before.

Love discovering the world with my loved ones. Driving in our own pace and stopping where ever we like for as long as we wished is amazing!

You can follow the trip me made and see what inspires me at #jimmyschonninghem which is my Instagram tag.

2014 gave so much and I want to thank everyone that contributed to making it such a remarkable year.

On that note I want send out a shout saying that our TV3 Sweden production of Husräddarna that I wrote here on the blog about will return as a short reminder of all 7 programs with links so that you can see all the shows and find them here from the blog so that you are ready for the
NEW SEASON of 2015 when it will be broadcast in the fall. We are now in the making of the very first episodes and we have so much to give and surprises to offer!

       Happy New 2015!
