that by following her 

sculpture process and 

enjoying the shapes she was creating I had somehow imagined someone much older and not so young and gorgeous. I was wrong.

Sadly our first meeting was over plagiarism. Kristiina came to 

my studio on Södermalm.  

She as well as I have created 

unique products that had been copied 

and sold by competition 

although everyone can 

see that its 

a copy. 

Since bringing in the law in this area has not proved a succsessful endeavour even for world brands what strategy  can you follow to protect your interest was what our fika was centered around. 

Therefore it makes me very proud 

to present 

Kristiina Haataja 

that gave us the permission to  displaying her unique work at 

Halmens Hus in my exhibit 

Straw in interiors 2019. 

Halmens Hus is located in the picturesq Dalsland town of Bengtsfors 

known for lakes, channels & waterways.

Kristiina Haataja är en konstnär och designer baserad i Stockholm. Den mänskliga anatomin tar sig uttryck i hennes skulpturer där hon har utvecklat en stil som är unika i sina former, men råa och strukturerade i sina ytor.

Inspirationen till verken kommer från hennes intresse för konsthistoria där hon låter antikens kroppar möta kubismens strama linjer. Därför kallar hon sin stil för Antik kubism, en sammanflätning av dessa två element. Skulpturernas olika karaktärer såsom drömmaren, tänkaren eller det enskilda ansiktet låter betraktaren visionera vad de kan uttrycka. Skulpturerna har också namn som har speciella betydelser.

Kristiina har under åren exponerats i en rad internationella tidningar och figurerat i olika sociala kanaler. Hennes konst har agenturer och showroom i nordiska städer såsom Oslo och Helsingfors, men även i Europa, Amsterdam och Milano, samt i Sidney, Australien. Skulpturer har också köpts in till större residens exempelvis gamla anrika hotellet Lutetia i centrala Paris samt slottet Château de L’Estang i Sancerre via hennes agent Atelier 27 i Paris.

Kristiina Haataja is an artist and designer based in Stockholm. She works mainly with the elements of human body in her sculptures where she has developed an own style that is unique with clean lines and shapes but at the same time have raw and structured surfaces.
The inspiration for the art work comes from her interest for Art history and she lets the ancient anatomy emerge with cubist form. Therefore she calls her own style for Ancient Cubism. The sculptures´ characters such as the dreamer, thinker or simply the head let the spectator to vision what they could express and they also have names that mean something special.

Kristiina´s sculptures has been exposed in numerous numbers of magazines and has occurred in different social media platforms. Her art is distributed through agents and exhibited in Nordic cities such as Oslo and Helsinki but also in Europe like Amsterdam and Milano and in Sidney, Australia. Her sculptures have been bought to large residences for example the old exclusive hotel Lutetia in central Paris and the castle Château de L’Estang i Sancerre through her agent Atelier 27.
